History
Since its inception in 1986, CECOS University has played a pivotal role in shaping the futures of more than twenty-two thousand students across various disciplines such as Business Studies, Computer Sciences, Civil Engineering, and Information Technology.
The journey of CECOS University began in 1986 when Engr. Muhammad Tanveer Javed established CECOS Data Institute in Peshawar with just five computers and a handful of students. Over time, the institute became affiliated with Peshawar University, emerging as a leading college offering postgraduate programs in Computer Science, and also gained affiliation with the University of London for selective computer courses. Today, CECOS University boasts a student body of over three thousand individuals.
As this dynamic institution continues to evolve, it is poised to expand its academic offerings and leverage its expertise to support the educational growth of the younger generation. Through initiatives like The Edex School, CECOS University aims to revolutionize private schooling in Peshawar and beyond.
1986
CECOS Data Institute was founded. It started with only five computers and a very few students.
1987
KP’s first private Commerce College was established with the name of CECOS Frontier College of Business Education.
1994
Our campus extended to Hayatabad, as CECOS Data College was established and degree programs in Business & Computer Sciences were started.
1996
1996 saw the opening of the College of Engineering and Information Technology in Peshawar to offer Electrical and Civil Engineering Programs.
1998
CECOS moved to open the CECOS London College in 1998, registered under UK rules to offer various Diploma and Degree Programs.
2001
The Government granted Charter for University under the name of CECOS University of Information Technology and Emerging Sciences.
2008
CECOS established the first Architecture Department of Peshawar to develop Architects for the oldest living city of South Asia.
2010
Another Engineering Department was of Mechanical Engineering was added to strengthen the Electrical and Civil Engineering Departments.
2013
The addition of Institute of Integrative Biosciences at CECOS is preparing human resource for the upcoming revolution of Synthetic Biology.
2017
The EDEX School is born with a vision to empower all students to embrace learning, achieve their personal best and build their emotional, social and physical well-being.
2018
